It’s been floating around for a while, but now it’s official. On September 5th, Microsoft is dropping Xbox 360 prices in the U.S. New prices will look something like this:

* Xbox 360 Arcade - $199
* Xbox 360 60GB - $299
* Xbox 360 Elite - $399

The Xbox 360 60 GB and Elite will both see a $50 decrease, while the Arcade will gets an $80 price cut. The price cuts will make the Xbox 360 the cheapest next-gen console on the market with the Arcade being $50 cheaper than the Wii.
